Thanksgiving Day 2005 was not an ordinary day in the small town of Ashburnham. It was the day of the big game with their rival Gardner High School. The papers had predicted that Oakmont would lose. Gardner was Division 1 while Oakmont was Division 3...... on top of that we woke up to a blanket of snow, the first snow of the season.
Matt's number is 85. The coach wanted the players at the school at 7:00 a.m. - the game didn't start till 10:00 a.m.

Gardner took the lead and kept it until the 4th
quarter...

Gardner has the ball and is moving aggressively down to their goal line.

The score was 15 to 9, Oakmont's favor; 55 seconds left in the game and Gardner had the ball on their 4 yard line. They had two more downs to go.

The coach huddled them together and gave the instructions... the team went for the play,

Our Matt Goguen intercepted the ball and Oakmont won. The crowd went wild!!
