A Taste of Home

Wow!
IT WILL STAY BLACK THE ENTIRE TIME :)!
I have been trying for at least a week if not more to post a video of a sound that warms my heart every evening. I love technology when it works.
It is a magical choir that sings to us each and every summer night. There are low voices, medium, and high.
The camera mostly picked up the low voices. I just pointed the camera and pressed the button. I was so excited when the choir voices were recorded because they are pretty far away.
Try to bear with it and turn your volume up and listen till the end because it gets louder at different times.
Bear with your mom as she goes through one of her OH OH OH OH moments -

I then took a picture of the area where they were coming from in the daylight so all of you could remember and reminisce.
I just don't remember it being so loud!
Help me remember. I remember the katydids and enjoying the sounds - did we have them this loud?
I remember catching toads, with my children when they were young. We haven't had any in our yard for years. So this was a joy to hear. It is sauch a riot! It really brings a smile to my face and heart.

Searching

Mark Twain once remarked
"The great books are the books that everyone wishes he had read, but no one wants to read."

They shy away from reading them because these books require thought. And thinking is hard. It is probably one of the most painful things that human beings are called upon to do.

Great books are not easy to read, one doesn't understand them well on the first reading nor master them after many readings. But it is precisely because great books are difficult that they are more readable and more worth reading than other books. They raise problems which they do not finally answer that they can provoke us to think, inquire, and discuss. It is precisely because their difficulty challenges our skill in reading that they can help us to improve that skill. It is precisely because they often challenge our accepted prejudices and our established opinions that they can help us develop our critical faculties....great books are ones you always can go deeper into, as sources of enlightenment, they are inexhaustible...

(Out of the Best Books, article "What makes a Great Book?"
I was searching for a novel to read and came across this quote and thought and thought it was interesting......

Sometimes I think too much and don't need to think anymore and need something light. Other times it is wonderful to have an opportunity to think deeply on a topic.
