Yeah Summer - Blueberry Time!

Spontaneously I called several friends up and said, "Spread the word, anyone wanting to go blueberry picking come join in on the fun!"

This was the view as we picked in Troy, NH. They are the early blueberries. Matthew went a few days ago up Mt. Watatic and they were not out yet.
WE HAD SUCH FUN!

They were huge!

LIFE IS MEANT TO BE ENJOYED1
MATTHEW AND DAD LOVED BLUEBERRY PANCAKES AND THE MIETTINENS ENJOYED THE MUFFINS. LOVE THOSE SIMPLE PLEASURES!

Seattle - Love in Action

He drew a circle that shut me out --
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But Love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle that took him in.

In order to mutually support each other. It is a dual of letting each of us in to help and also being willing to help. I am very grateful to be associated with all of you. WE ARE THE GOGUENS!!! WE ROCK!! WE ARE THERE FOR EACH OTHER - THANK YOU!

This was our view as we drove back and forth between houses. I still have such wonderful memories that Shane gave us of climbing Mt. Rainier. Look how alone, solid and majestic it looks. Who would know there were wildflowers along the path as you climbed on this snow covered mountain.

There are only two things that dad hates more than anything - putting something together mechanically and being up high.

That's love! Shane knew it and really appreciated it. Love for Shane and me. He didn't want me climbing up there.

All done with painting. Matthew and I did over the garage windows. I did the garage door and the roof line. It took the entire week for the trim.

Matthew contributed so much he was there constantly doing whatever was needed. He painted the porch floor and railing. Actually all of us did everything. Some things needed second coats. It was good just to be together doing something together.

After Mom not cooking for a week and grabbing what we could. Working non stop. We grabbed one night where we went out to eat before we cracked from all work and no play. One of the only times we were all together.

This is where we went to church. It is a stake center. There are three wards that meet here.

I don't know why but the blog is not letting me add any more pictures. Maybe later.
This is our now! We only pass this way once!

Grass!!!

Dad and I are so happy he has more of a lawn now. He watches over it giving it fertilizer etc. He says it only took him 20 years! :)

I have been trying to grow flowers for years also. Just a few fun shots that gladden my heart every time I come home.

Patience......... This plant just sat there just sticks with a few leaves for over a year and now look at it. Dad and I came home from Newport and were soooo happy it decided to flower.

Dad, Matthew and I were one wheelbarrow at a time and one day at a time able to refurbish our pathway.

These just came up again from last year! Yabadabadoo!!! Surprise me - I love it! We plan and plant and then have no control - what a joy!

Newport, Rhode Island and the Tall Ships

NEWPORT here we come!

Dad and I had an opportunity to spend a few days in Newport during the time of the Tall Ships. We really fell in love with the whole area and are looking forward to spending more time there.

The famous cliff walk and along the way we saw a white heron. Very striking!

We decided on a Sailboat Cruise at the last minute and oh how we enjoyed it!!

This was the sailboat we sailed on as we looked on from another boat. There were only about eight of us when we went. It had started out being cloudy and then turned into a beautiful day.

Here they come, these are only a few pictures
of them. It took me awhile to post them because I kept hoping I would find a way to add the Shaw Brothers song, "Tall Ships" to help you feel the absolute wonder of them.

This one is one of the larger ones and it is the Colombian vessel. It is the same one lit up in the sunset picture.

This one was a vessel which allowed people from I think 15 to 75 be a volunteer on it for a week or two, and work as a crew member. I would thoroughly enjoy that as a vacation.

This si the Brazilian ship, named Cisne Branco

There were 19 in all.

Eleven from foreign countries.

Tree of Life from the United States.

These were the Pride of Baltimore and the Massachusetts.

We decided to take a sunset/fireworks cruise.

I don't think we would have been down at the dock at this time if we hadn't.

It was a lot of fun and quite different to see the fireworks from a sailboat in the water.

The fireworks were magical that night!

The German Ship, Gorch Fock II

The harbor view

Dad at the wheel.

Fixing the sail.

The Skinners came down to be with us on Friday and went with us on the sunset sailing cruise.

Pirates were everywhere and they put on quite a show.

On the last day they did a parade leaving the harbor. All sailed under the bridge.

2007 Birthday celebration for Dad and Don. They hadn't done it since they were kids!!!!!!!
